Getting to Tempe

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is approximately 6 miles from Tempe and easily accessible by taxi (from $21.00 + tip) or SuperShuttle ($17.00 + tip). Please note that no advance reservations are available for SuperShuttle from the Phoenix airport.

Some hotels offer complimentary shuttle service, so be sure to check with your accommodation prior to arrival.

It pays to call several places and shop around. Most of the options will require taking light rail or taxi to the class site if you are not a good walker. If the venue is Gailynn’s house, transportation will be provided for anyone staying in one of the listed hotels (or near one of these hotels).

Be aware that better prices can usually be had by booking as far in advance as possible. You can always cancel the reservation if something better comes along unless you use the non-refundable option. Please communicate with the class organizer before booking a non-refundable rate. Most hotels have discount rates for AAA and some have discounts on the Internet. It is best to call the hotel directly before booking on the internet to compare prices.
